Bio Tower Settling Clarifiers

Purpose

After the wastewater has been through Bio tower treatment, the waste-stream is once again full of organic material from the bacteria that has sloughed from the bio tower. At this stage, the remaining solid material is in very small particles, which do not settle as easily as large clumps of material would.

Clarifiers

The Bio tower Stage settling clarifiers are very similar to the 1st stage and 2nd settling clarifiers. The Bio tower Stage settling clarifiers also have a series of scrapers in the bottom that drag the settling solid material to a sump at the end of the tank where it can be pumped out. The solids that are captured during this process are also sent to the anaerobic digester system so they can be reclaimed.
