The Rochester Parks and Recreation Department has steadily improved the Mill Creek Golf Course for nearly 30 years. The original 9-hole course was laid out in 1972 and officially opened for play in 1973. The facility underwent a redesign and additional construction effort in 1991-92 that culminated with the current 18-hole layout opening on September 11th 1992 . This effort was under the direction of Tom Zimmerman who creatively intermingled new design with existing features and managed to keep holes 1,8, and 9 completely original.

The Par 36-36-72 layout utilizes 3 different teeing areas to challenge golfers of all ability levels. Water hazards come into play on at least 12 holes and the 26 bunkers are strategically located to provide additional obstacles. Greens are moderate in size and contain gentle undulations to test putting and chipping skills.  A driving range and putting green are available for pre or post round practice.

Round Barn Bound!

The Rochester Parks and Recreation Board has taken steps to ensure the Mill Creek Golf Shop will be located inside the Gerhig Round Barn for the beginning of the 2005 season. Part of this relocation will involve the development of a new practice green, shelter, cart building, and parking lot in the area adjacent to the Round Barn.
